What to do now

1. Write down what you are owed: each unpaid month, end-of-service pay, and fees you paid the agency.
2. You can often still claim from Kenya: through the embassy, the labour ministry of the country you worked in (many take complaints online), or your agency through NEA.
3. Claims have time limits, so start soon.
4. Gather what you still have. Lost papers? Your M-Pesa and bank statements and chats can still show what happened.
